Business Data Backup & Recovery Services

Automated. Verified. Recoverable. Backup that actually works when you need it.

Most Businesses Think They Have a Backup. Most Are Wrong.

Having a backup solution installed is not the same as having a backup that works. Failed jobs go unnoticed. Recovery has never been tested. Retention windows are too short. The backup software ran out of storage months ago.

IT Master Services designs, implements, and actively monitors backup solutions for businesses - on-premise, cloud, and hybrid. We verify your backups run successfully, test restores on a regular schedule, and make sure you have a documented recovery plan before disaster strikes - not after.

Signs Your Backup Strategy Has a Problem

Any one of these is a serious risk. More than one is a disaster waiting to happen.

You've never tested a restore
No alerts for failed backup jobs
Backup stored only on-site
Backups not encrypted
Retention under 30 days
Microsoft 365 data not backed up
No documented recovery plan
Ransomware could encrypt backups

Our Backup & Recovery Solutions

We design the right strategy for your data, your environment, and your recovery time requirements.

On-Premise Backup

Local NAS or backup appliance solutions for fast, low-latency recovery of files and systems. Ideal for large data sets or environments with strict data residency requirements. We handle device selection, setup, and monitoring.

Cloud Backup

Offsite cloud backup to Azure, or dedicated backup platforms - protecting your data from fire, theft, flood, and ransomware that can reach local storage. Automated, encrypted, and monitored daily.

Hybrid 3-2-1 Backup

The gold standard - 3 copies of your data, on 2 different media, with 1 copy offsite. We implement and manage true 3-2-1 backup strategies that protect against every realistic failure scenario, including ransomware.

Microsoft 365 Backup

Microsoft does not fully back up your Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, or Teams data. We implement dedicated M365 backup solutions with independent retention - protecting email, files, and Teams content from accidental deletion and ransomware.

Server & VM Backup

Image-based backups of physical servers and virtual machines - enabling bare-metal recovery or granular file restore. We configure Windows Server Backup, Azure Backup, Veeam, and other enterprise-grade solutions.

Disaster Recovery Planning

A backup is only as good as your ability to use it under pressure. We document recovery procedures, define RTO/RPO targets, and conduct regular recovery tests - so your team knows exactly what to do when it matters most.

How We Manage Your Backup

Set-it-and-forget-it backup fails. We take an active, monitored approach to every client.

1
Assess & Design

We inventory your data sources, define RPO/RTO requirements, identify compliance obligations, and design a backup strategy that actually meets your recovery needs.

2
Deploy & Configure

We implement your backup solution end-to-end - software, agents, schedules, encryption, retention policies, and offsite replication - with full documentation handed to you.

3
Monitor Daily

Every backup job is checked daily. Failed or missed jobs trigger immediate alerts and remediation - not a monthly report that tells you what went wrong 30 days ago.

4
Test Restores

We conduct regular test restores to verify your backups are actually recoverable. If something isn't working, we find it during a routine test - not during a crisis.

Why IT Master Services for Data Backup?

Verified, Not Assumed

We don't assume your backups are working - we verify them. Daily monitoring and regular restore tests mean you have confidence your data is actually protected.

Ransomware-Resistant Design

We design backup architectures with immutability and air-gap principles - so ransomware that reaches your network can't also encrypt your backups and leave you with nothing.

Compliance-Ready

We configure retention policies and encryption to meet HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and other regulatory requirements - and provide the documentation you need for audits.

Data Backup - Common Questions

Not in the way most businesses assume. Microsoft provides limited recycle bin functionality and short-term version history, but it is not a backup solution. Deleted items are only recoverable for a limited window, and there is no protection against a ransomware attack that encrypts your SharePoint or OneDrive content. A dedicated third-party M365 backup solution is strongly recommended for any business that uses Microsoft 365.

The 3-2-1 rule is the industry standard for resilient backup: keep 3 copies of your data, on 2 different storage media types, with 1 copy stored offsite. This ensures that no single failure - hardware failure, ransomware, fire, flood - can eliminate all copies of your data simultaneously. We implement and manage 3-2-1 backup strategies for businesses of all sizes.

Yes - if your backup destination is accessible from the infected machine, ransomware can reach it. This is why we design backup solutions with immutable storage (backups that can't be modified or deleted once written) and offsite copies that are not directly mounted to your network. A properly designed backup architecture survives ransomware; a poorly designed one does not.

It depends on your Recovery Point Objective (RPO) - how much data loss your business can tolerate. For most businesses, daily backups with continuous or hourly snapshots for critical systems is the right approach. For high-transaction environments like databases or point-of-sale systems, near-real-time replication may be needed. We help define the right RPO for your business and build the backup schedule around it.

Recovery time depends on your Recovery Time Objective (RTO), the size of the data being restored, and the backup solution in use. A local image-based restore can bring a server back in hours. Cloud-only restores for large datasets can take longer. We help define your RTO during the design phase and select solutions that can meet it - then verify those times through regular test restores.
